Tyler is the owner and head coach of CrossFit Hierarchy. CrossFit completely changed his approach to both training and life outside the gym–he has seen firsthand how physical strength translates into mental and emotional strength. Tyler has been coaching CrossFit in the DC area for over 7 years and loves helping people achieve beyond what they ever thought was possible. He loves ring dips and hates chocolate.

Ikaika is strong. Literally–Ikaika means ‘strength’ in Hawaiian. His road to fitness started in high school, where he played football and developed a love of team sports. He discovered CrossFit when he moved to DC in 2013, and has been coaching ever since. He loves snatches and hates beer.

Growing up as a soccer and basketball player, Christine has always loved being part of a community that pushed fitness and competition. She became addicted to Crossfit while working with the military overseas and immediately became a member of the local box when she got home. She loves empowering athletes at all levels to realize their full potential. She loves T2B and hates pickles.

A lifelong athlete, Owen discovered CrossFit while searching for a way to get back in shape after recovering from an injury and illness that derailed his collegiate football career. His passion for Olympic Lifting initially drew him to CrossFit, but it was the realization that CrossFit was a tool for improving yourself both inside and outside the gym, and not just another training program, that made him stay. He endeavors to make sure athletes realize that they have potential far beyond what they believe they have, and he will probably always be more excited about your PR than you will be. He loves clean and jerks and hates cucumbers.

Rob grew up wandering around the vernal pools of New England and learning how not lose some finger to turtle bites. In college, he worked hard on pulling a stick through the water and captained the rowing team his senior year. He has been working at CrossFit since March of 2015 and sees coaching as an amazing way to pass along that passion for hard work. He loves 80's action movies and hates very little...it leads to the dark side. But veggie burgers are on that list.

Having played rugby for ten years, Dave has a passion for the intensity and community found in group athletics. Dissatisfied with forays into distance running and obstacle course races after college, he found CrossFit in early 2014 and knew immediately he had stumbled upon something special. As a coach, Dave is passionate about using CrossFit to help people push their boundaries and discover how much they are capable of. He loves squats and hates cheese.

In her own words “I’ve yet to find another mode of exercise that transforms both the mind and body in the way CrossFit does. I love sharing the knowledge and experience other coaches have invested in me and training people in a sport that I know is functional and fun.” She loves sweets and hates being cold.

Sara has been teaching yoga for almost 9 years and doing CrossFit for about one year. What she loves most about yoga is how she feels flexible and free in her body, but also clear-minded and happier after. For Sara, yoga and CrossFit are a perfect combo. CrossFit has made her stronger, and yoga has made her more self-aware, mobile, and aligned. Yoga enables her to approach CrossFit healthily, execute better form, and avoid injury. It also helps her to calm the fuck down and not sweat the small stuff. She loves burpees and hates sea urchin.
